2 computers having the same UltraViewer ID / Change UltraViewer ID on hard disk clone
Question:
Hi UltraViewer,
When I clone our PC image/disk to a new PC, it will get the same UltraViewer ID as the original source. How can I make UltraViewer get a new ID for the cloned PC?
Answer:
You can follow the instructions below to fix the issue if your two computers have the same ID:
- Change the computer name: Ensure that the two computers have different machine names.
- Change the IP address in the LAN: If the two computers have the same LAN IP, change the IP in the LAN to two different IPs.
- Change the MAC address: If you know how to change the MAC address, change the MAC address so that the two computers have different MAC addresses. If you don’t know how to change your MAC address, you can skip this step for now.
Then download the PreferID-Reset.zip file and extract it. Run the PreferID-reset.reg file inside and click OK.
Finally, open UltraViewer again to see if the ID number has changed.
Good luck!
Note: If your PCs already have distinct information for all three of the fields mentioned above but still share the same ID, please try changing all three fields again and then run the PreferID-Reset file to prompt the UltraViewer system to provide you with a new ID.
Hello Dears, Very happy to use UltraViewer for the first time with my musical school teacher which is far from 8000 km from me. The connection was instantaneous and remote working was very efficient, we setup the tool in 2' on both part continuing our chat discussion via whatsapp. I asked him to search on goolge and to download the soft for the original site.I hope this product will be availaible for a long time and that the fee to use will stay friendly. Thank you to all the team for making that great jobKind regards from Belgium
